Q. How large of a marking area can your system do? Other galvo systems I have seen can only do a maximum of 6” x 6” tiles.
A. 3Score has developed proprietary hardware and software which allows our “one and only” system of its type to have the capability to mark large field areas. The system comes standard with an 18”x18” marking area, and we have the ability to build custom systems with unlimited field sizes.
Q. What sort of power hookups will I need for the Laser system?
A. You will need to supply a 50Amp, 220V hookup.
Q. What sort of accessories do you offer for your laser?
A. We offer several add ons for large volume engravers, such as custom designed auto feed conveyor and/or automated rotary table auto feeders, to automate your production lines. We also offer upgrades to do automatic design switching. We have been in the custom factory automation business for over 20 years, we have the engineering experience to provide a solution tailored to your application.
Q. Why does your system require a chiller, other laser systems are air cooled?
A. True, other systems do not use chillers to cool their laser tubes, they are air cooled. Our system is the only system we are aware of that uses a chiller. The primary reason we use a chiller is that it eliminates banding. Air cooled laser tubes, expand and contract with temperature, as this happens you get different power settings at the focal point, if you have seen lines and banding on your engraving, this is probably the reason why. With our water cooled laser tubes and chiller, which allow the laser tube to maintain a constant ambient temperature, you will not have these problems, you will be capable of producing lasered images at a quality never seen before.
Q. How much maintenance is required on the LTM system?
A. Somewhere between none and very little. We have had systems in use for more then 5 years full time in a dirty production environment, and they have needed zero maintenance, having said that, the water could be changed periodically in the chiller. The system only has moving parts inside of the sealed head, which means there is nothing to replace or that will wear.
Q. How big of a footprint does the system use?
A. The system needs about 4’ x 6’ of floor space, plus operating area to load and unload tile.
Q. How long have these systems been in operation?
A. We built our first LTM in 2000, since then we have made several improvements and kept it up to date with the latest technology.
Q. Do I need to run my files through Photograve?
A. Photograve converts your image to 1 bit, our system is capable of marking 8 bit files directly from your graphic software, for amazing resolution and detail. Our system also will do true vector marking with amazing speeds from dxf files.
